Announcing ‘Go Yellow Day’ for St Luke’s Hospice

June is National ‘Go Yellow’ Month for the Hospice Movement when we try to raise awareness of the vital role of hospices within the Community.

At St Luke’s Hospice we will be ‘going yellow’ in a big way in order to highlight not only the nature of the work we do but also the fact that we care for patients from both Cornwall and Devon. Each year more than 2,000 patients are cared for at the Hospice in-patient unit and many more receive care from our specialist palliative care teams in the community.

St Luke’s has charity shops across Plymouth, South West Devon and South East Cornwall and these help to raise much-needed funds for the Hospice. They will all be ‘Going Yellow’ with window displays during June.

This year’s campaign is to be officially launched on Saturday May 31st at the famous Gateway to Cornwall and the link between the counties of Devon and Cornwall, the Tamar Bridge. A ribbon cutting ceremony will take place on the cantilever lane and on the main deck the tollbooths will be decorated with large yellow bows!

Saturday June 20th will be Official ‘Go Yellow’ Day in the towns of Saltash and Modbury. Businesses and shops in both towns will be supporting St Luke’s with all things yellow – including window displays, fancy dress and even yellow themed food!
