Memories in Bloom

We would like to invite you to make a donation as part of our Memories in Bloom campaign, and dedicate a sunflower to your lost loved ones. Radiating cheer and symbolising longevity, we have chosen sunflowers as they capture the nature of the memories we treasure of the special people no longer with us – heart-warming, comforting and enduring.

As a thank you for your donation, we will send you a packet of sunflower seeds so you can grow your own flowers as a symbol of remembrance. You can use the seeds from the beautiful flower to grow them year on year, and as you see them bloom in your garden, we hope you will recollect beautiful memories.

Come together this Spring

To see the display of sunflower dedications, we invite you to come to our Memories in Bloom service at Wellbeck Field in Turnchapel on Sunday 26 May.

Pack a picnic, bring your family and join with others also celebrating the life of someone dear in a supportive atmosphere. The day starts at 11.30am and includes a non-religious service of remembrance at 1pm, with a choir and readings.

How your donation can help

At St Luke’s we provide specialist end of life care for over 3,500 people each year across Plymouth, South West Devon and East Cornwall. We have a community nursing team that travels throughout the region, caring for people in their own homes; a hospital team that ensures patients admitted to Derriford Hospital receive expert advice and our specialist unit where patients stay with us for bespoke pain relief.

With only part funding from the government, we rely heavily on the support of our local community to raise the £4 million a year it takes to help the people in desperate need of our services. Choosing to donate to our campaign is your chance to make a real difference to people’s lives.
