Gentlemen, get Saturday 25 March 2017 in your diary – the St Luke’s Men’s Day Out, powered by IU Energy, is (gedd’)on!
Obviously, it’s all about the 12km walk. Which happens to run along some of the city’s busiest streets through Devonport, into Plymouth City Centre, the Barbican, the Hoe and back out again. There could be a pub or two along the way, but we couldn’t possibly say.
So here’s the plan. Rock up to Albion at 10 to get your lad's day rolling - do the walk, then it’s back to Plymouth Albion to see the city’s boys tough it out for a match with Blaydon. Grab your pint. Grab your pasty. Then get your banter going knowing you’ve done something amazing for people that really need it.
Up for it? We need you to get your mates together and sign up for the 2017 event. You’ll have a jam-packed day of rugby, memories and good times but do remember we’re doing it for a brilliant cause – the thousands of people in your community that need essential end of life care every single day.
And on that note, and just a nudge, the £25 sign-up fee covers logistics and a small donation but it’s your sponsorship money that really keeps our nurses on the road. Anything you can collect is very, very welcome and our patients will be incredibly grateful. Go on, get stuck in!
