Get ready – St Luke’s iconic Midnight Walk returns for 2026! Step out under the stars to celebrate treasured memories of loved ones and raise vital funds for the compassionate local care we deliver across the community.

Join hundreds of fellow walkers on Friday 10 July as you take to the streets of Plymouth, while helping to shine a light on hospice care. The funds you raise through sponsorship and donations will help us to continue our vital work providing clinical, practical and emotional end of life care for patients and their loved ones, at home and at our specialist unit at Turnchapel.

Entries for this hugely popular event are now open and, again there are four route options, ensuring the whole family can join in, from young children, teenagers and occasional strollers through to seasoned long-distance striders of all ages and those challenging their personal fitness goals.

Celebrating St Luke’s Guiding Lights at Midnight Walk

Participants can choose from 2.5-mile, five-mile, 7.5-mile or 13.5-mile circuits, all beginning and ending at Plymouth Argyle’s Home Park stadium and passing local landmarks along the way. Registration costs £24 for ages 11 and over, and £12 for ages 10 and below.

The 5-mile route will be extra magical in 2026, as participants will be able to follow our illuminated Guiding Lights art trail – a stunning series of lighthouse sculptures lighting up Plymouth’s streets and waterfront, for one night only. Each lighthouse has been beautifully designed by local and regional artists and proudly sponsored by local businesses, creating a truly unforgettable experience that you won’t want to miss.

Before setting off, walkers will be able to view a special Reflection Wall at Argyle’s Fanzone filled with words they have submitted in advance to honour special friends and family members who have died. While it’s a moment to pause and remember, the event is also bursting with positivity. Rain or shine, the atmosphere will be filled with colour, laughter and community spirit. Walkers can get into the mood with upbeat warm‑up dance routines, pick up fun‑filled merchandise and refreshments before setting off together.

St Luke’s Events Manager Georgina Dyke said: “We are excited to welcome everyone to our Midnight Walk again this year. With four routes to choose from we want to make our event accessible to all ages and abilities, making it a night for all the family to partake in.

“To celebrate the launch of our Guiding Lights trail this summer, this year’s event will provide an exclusive opportunity to experience our lighthouse sculptures illuminated against the night on our 5-mile route, making the evening even more magical for you.

“We’re incredibly grateful to our sponsors Michael Spiers, and to Plymouth Argyle for hosting us again this year. I’d like to remind everyone that your registration fee covers the cost of putting on the event. It’s the sponsorship and donations we receive on top that really make the difference to the people who need our vital services 365 days a year.

“Whether you will be walking in memory of someone, supporting a friend or family member or simply doing it for fun, what really makes the night for everybody is that they’re coming together to do what they can to help local families going through the toughest of times.
