Therapies

Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapy can help people maintain their independence and engagement in everyday activities, whilst coping with life-limiting illnesses, by supporting them with identifying, understanding and adapting to changes.

One of our key aims is to maximise independence, enabling people to remain as active as possible through all stages of the illness. Our Occupational Therapists will help to work through problems patients are experiencing and suggest adaptations that will help them going forward. Through assessment we can then supply appropriate equipment or aids to help our patients maintain their independence.

Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy aims to help maintain a patient’s movement, function and independence. Our Physiotherapists assess and agree a treatment plan according to the individual’s needs. They will help to maximise strength and mobility through exercise and rehabilitation.

Complementary Therapies

We can also provide patients with a choice of complementary and alternative medicine to support their well being, assist in symptom control and aid relaxation alongside the other care provided at St Luke’s.

Treatments available include:

  • Aromatherapy
  • Massage
  • Reflexology
  • Reiki
