- Level 6
- This module will enable health & social care practitioners to develop a critical and reflective approach to caring for those living and dying with a life-limiting condition, promoting quality, dignity and choice in end of life care and palliative care services.
At the end of the module the learner will be expected to be able to:
• Critically evaluate the delivery of end of life care in their area of practice with reference to the evidence base, relevant quality markers, multi- professional working and ethical boundaries
• Demonstrate critical analysis of evidence base, end of life frameworks, polices and guidance
• Produce evidence of synthesis and effective review of end of life care in their area of practice.
• Produce evidence which demonstrates evidence of key areas of End of Life competence in accordance with role.
- Level 7
- This module is designed to provide evidence-based and clinically relevant content that is applicable to a range of clinical areas in both primary, secondary, palliative and end of life care environments. It will enable the practitioner to develop a critical and reflective approach to caring, promoting quality, dignity and choice in end of life care and palliative care services.
At the end of the module the learner will be expected to be able to:
• Exercise initiative and responsibility for identifying own learning needs
• Demonstrate a deep systematic and critical understanding of relevant literature and current evidence base of end of life and palliative care practice
• Articulate a current issue in palliative/end of life care and employ critical analysis of the surrounding evidence practice and policy, providing a detailed summary of key perspectives
• Critically examine how service provision may be transformed to benefit patient experience.
