Volunteering

We currently have over 650 amazing volunteers and they are at the heart of everything we do. We simply could not deliver our care without them.

Why volunteer?

People volunteer with us for many different reasons. Our volunteers tell us they joined to meet new friends or to gain skills and experience or because they have a personal connection to St Luke’s. Whatever your motivation to volunteer, we want to hear from you!

Read more information below and find out how you can sign up to volunteer today.

To apply, simply email volunteer@stlukes-hospice.org.uk or apply using our online form below.

Retail

We need people interested in fashion, art, old coins, music records, antique and modern furniture, electricians for PAT testing, bric-a-brac treasure hunters, those with and without retail experience or even just a passion for recycling. All skills and knowledge make a difference in helping us raise funds to deliver our vital care. Interested in volunteering in our shops? Fill in the form below.

Fundraising events

Fundraising events help contribute to the over £13 million it costs to run St Luke’s and it would not be possible without the army of volunteers who make it possible. Why not become a marshal at our next big event? Fill in the form below to register your interest.

Social care

Volunteers can be so valuable in contributing to the services our St Luke’s at Home team provide. Our volunteers in our Patient and Family Support Service provide important support to our patients and their loved ones, including through bereavement. Interested in volunteering with us? Fill in the form below.

Support roles

There are many roles that help support the daily running of our specialist unit at Turnchapel. We rely on volunteers to support us in different departments such as maintenance, gardening, reception and in the Driftwood café; where you will also assist in serving the patients drinks and their meals. If you can lend us your time we would love to hear from you. Fill out the form below.
