The fresh design and layout are designed to keep customers flocking in to browse and buy in support of local hospice care.
Age is no barrier when it comes to our Midnight Walkers. At 78 and 87, Jean Turfkruyer and Bernie Massey will be some of our oldest participants at our Midnight Walk on Friday, but the friends are not letting their age stop them from taking part and making a difference.
Jean and Bernie are two of our Compassionate Friends who volunteer at our Friends in the Park Compassionate Café at the Well Being Hub at Central Park.
The pair first met four years ago when the café was first set up for members of the community who are experiencing loss, bereavement or maybe affected by life limiting illness to meet.

Louise Peters’ very good friend David, 46, was being cared for by St Luke’s in his final days. In honour of his memory and as a way of saying thank you to St Luke’s for the care he and his wife and two children received, Louise will be completing the 5 mile walk along with lots of friends, colleagues and one of David’s brothers and his family, including his young niece.
When our care teams look after patients, they get to know them on a personal level, understanding their interests and learning about their backgrounds, to make sure the care they receive is personalised and unique to them.
When Health Care Assistant Lynn Collins got to know Pam Appleby when visiting as part of our community team, she learnt of her lifelong love of horses and started thinking of how she could give Pam some special lasting memories to help brighten her days.

Volunteers are a unique breed. They do what they do out of the generosity in their hearts, giving their time for free to help others. This coming week is Volunteers’ Week (2-8 June), a chance to recognise and shine a light on the wonderful volunteers that shape our services. A spectacular lighthouse art trail is set to brighten the streets of Plymouth in 2026, uniting the community through creativity while raising much-needed funds and awareness for the compassionate end of life services St Luke’s Hospice Plymouth provides for patients and their loved ones.
St Luke’s Guiding Lights promises to be one of Devon’s most ambitious, must-see, family-friendly events for next summer. It will run for 10 weeks, culminating in a grand auction of the striking exhibited sculptures to the highest bidders.

Highly skilled, kind and present even when situations are heartbreaking or difficult, our nurses are a special breed. We appreciate them every day, and this International Nurses Day (12 May), we want to say an extra-big thank you to them for everything they do in, and for, our community.
We spoke to St Luke’s Community Nurse Specialist Sonja Hambly about her role and what motivates her to work in an environment many would shy away from, perhaps perceiving it as too tough on their emotions.
